Job Title: AY Pump Shaft & Shell Machining
Compensation:
Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

AY Pump Shaft & Shell Machining Job Summary:

The AY Pump Shaft & Shell Machining position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to cut, shape, and form metal workpieces to required specifications. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of machining operations, attention to detail, and the ability to follow pre-programmed machine instructions while maintaining safety and quality standards. This role requires proficiency in basic math and the ability to stand for extended periods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC machines according to specifications and setup sheets.
• Attach fixtures, secure workpieces, and assemble cutting tools in machine spindles.
• Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and make adjustments or replacements as needed.
• Measure workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Maintain accurate production counts and attendance records.
• Practice safe work habits, maintain a clean work area, and wear required PPE.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

AY Pump Shaft & Shell Machining Qualifications:

• 6 months to 1 year of related experience or equivalent training.
• Proficient in basic math, including fractions, decimals, and conversions.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Valid forklift driver’s license (or ability to obtain one).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect malfunctions or issues with machinery.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
