Mechanical Engineer Level 4 - Cost Reduction Focus
Location: Peoria, Illinois
Role Overview:
The role is part of the Cost Enabling Team in Earthmoving Division, focusing primarily on cost reduction initiatives. The selected candidate will identify and execute cost reduction projects, analyze systems, and lead cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with the India team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify and manage cost reduction projects effectively.
• Execute semi-complex cost-saving initiatives.
• Perform design, machine, and process analysis to uncover cost efficiencies.
• Collaborate with teams to create credible cost models, considering materials, exchange rates, and overheads.
• Work with purchasing and engineering teams to negotiate cost reductions.
• Lead small project teams ensuring organized project execution.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 7+ years of experience OR
• Master's/Ph.D. in Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong design knowledge & project management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; internal software training provided
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with metallic & non-metallic parts, systems like cab, powertrain, etc.
• Knowledge of cost modelling and analysis
