Position: Electrical Engineer Locations: Rockford, IL 61108 Pay Rate: $34.00-$44.00/hour Shift: 1st Shift Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week Employment: Direct #ElectricalEngineering #AerospaceJobs #PowerElectronics Overview: Join a leading aerospace team supporting the production and testing of primary and secondary power generation systems. This hands-on engineering role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and modernizing test equipment used in electrical and power system validation. Most work is bench-based, with occasional on-site support in the production environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic test and power equipment of various types and vintages using safe and proven methods.
• Reverse-engineer obsolete circuits and design replacement boards or assemblies as needed.
• Research and evaluate new components or instruments to replace obsolete hardware; collaborate with engineers on selection and validation.
• Create and maintain project documentation, including wiring schematics, material lists, and operating procedures.
• Use engineering and documentation tools such as Microsoft OneNote, Visio, and AutoCAD LT.
• Collaborate with calibration and test teams to ensure accurate equipment functionality and performance.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to technicians during test equipment repair and setup.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic and power systems equipment.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital components, including OP amps, IGBTs, MOSFETs, SCRs, and logic circuits.
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; able to explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-starter with curiosity and initiative-comfortable working independently or in small teams.
• Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with programmable logic devices (Allen Bradley, Siemens, National Instruments).
• Familiarity with LabVIEW, RSLogix 5000, or Studio 5000 environments.
• Ability to write or modify small code snippets in C/C++, Visual Basic, or similar languages for troubleshooting purposes.
• Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and industrial control systems.
• Background in aerospace or defense test environments.
