A well-established chemical manufacturing company is looking for a hardworking and reliable Porter/Maintenance to be responsible for safely cleaning and disinfecting the company facility. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and able to engage in continuous physical activity. The new hire will ensure and promote a clean and sanitary environment while following the company's safety policies.

• Clean buildings by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming, gather and empty trash, service, clean, and supply restrooms, dust furniture, fixtures, walls, machines and equipment, clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors
• Disinfect all common areas, door fixtures and restroom fixtures
• Order supplies and equipment as needed stock and maintain cleaning storage closets in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follow safety procedures observing all company safety policies, and checking electrical appliance for potential hazards
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment according to specifications, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

• 4+ yrs experience as a custodian, janitor, housekeeper in a manufacturing or office environment
• Experience working for a professional janitorial company, office complex, or hotel a plus
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Safety minded
• Able to stand, walk, and perform physical activity throughout the day
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs
• Ability to work unsupervised
