Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and/or groups. The therapist will assess mental health needs, develop treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to support clients in managing mental health challenges and improving their emotional well-being.
Mental Health Therapist – Job Responsibilities
Conduct Psychosocial Assessments
Complete comprehensive intake evaluations and diagnostic assessments for new clients.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical needs and client goals.
Provide Individual, Group, and Family Therapy
Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to clients with a range of mental health conditions.
Facilitate psychoeducational or therapeutic groups as assigned.
Monitor Client Progress
Regularly review and update treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
Document therapeutic progress and maintain up-to-date clinical notes in compliance with agency and state guidelines.
Crisis Intervention and Risk Assessment
Assess and respond to client crises including suicidal ideation, self-harm, or psychiatric emergencies.
Coordinate with crisis services or emergency contacts as needed.
Collaboration and Care Coordination
Work closely with psychiatrists, case managers, and other providers to ensure integrated care.
Attend team meetings and case conferences.
Maintain Compliance with Regulations
Ensure all services meet OMHC, Medicaid, and licensing standards (e.g., documentation timelines, HIPAA compliance).
Participate in audits, quality assurance reviews, and trainings.
Client Advocacy and Support
Advocate for client needs within the clinic and with external service providers.
Provide psychoeducation and support to families and caregivers.
Professional Development
Participate in supervision and continuing education to maintain licensure and develop clinical skills.
Stay current with best practices and emerging treatment approaches.
