The Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing multi-channel marketing initiatives that advance our brand, mission, and business objectives. This position manages social media content, designs digital and print assets, develops and deploys email campaigns, and supports business development and event marketing activities. The Specialist ensures consistency across all communications, aligns messaging with organizational goals, and maintains strong collaboration with internal departments and external partners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media Management (30%)
- Develop and maintain the social media calendar across all channels, including YouTube and TikTok.
- Create and publish content, including graphics, copy, and video coordination.
- Monitor engagement, respond to inquiries, and maintain an organized content library.
- Track performance metrics and implement improvements based on data analysis.
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote webinars, community outreach, and educational content.
- Ensure consistent brand tone, visuals, and compliance with our brand standards.
Email and Lifecycle Marketing (20%)
- Build and manage email campaigns and nurture flows using HubSpot, including segmentation, personalization, and smart content.
- Conduct A/B testing for optimization and maintain best practices for deliverability.
- Document and communicate test outcomes and insights to guide future campaigns.
- Produce regular reports summarizing campaign performance and recommendations.
Design and Asset Production (20%)
- Develop creative assets including graphics, flyers, one-pagers, presentations, and email templates.
- Manage and organize templates, ensuring consistent brand usage.
- Perform quality assurance on all deliverables, including proofreading, layout, and accessibility review.
- Coordinate with internal and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate production of materials.
Business Development and Partner Support (20%)
- Serve as marketing point of contact for business development and partner initiatives.
- Create and manage co-branded collateral to support prospecting and partner engagement.
- Track project requests, approvals, and maintain an organized digital repository of materials.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Community Outreach teams to design and execute campaigns that strengthen partnerships and brand awareness.
Events and Field Marketing (10%)
- Support planning, promotion, and logistics for conferences, events, and outreach initiatives.
- Manage event collateral, booth materials, and promotional items.
- Attend select events to assist with brand representation, content capture, and lead follow-up.
- Coordinate post-event reporting and content recaps.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop; InDesign preferred) and Canva.
- Hands-on experience with HubSpot (email marketing, forms, workflows, reporting).
- Understanding of social media analytics and marketing performance metrics.
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Professional presentation and interpersonal skills when working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AI or automation tools (e.g., ChatGPT, HubSpot AI, Canva Magic Studio) to improve efficiency.
- Willingness to travel 5–15% for events and adjust schedule during campaign launches.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of professional marketing experience in an agency, in-house, or nonprofit setting.
Working Conditions
- Work Environment: Hybrid office environment based in Newton, MA, with a combination of in-office and remote work.
- Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs.) for events or materials setup.
- Schedule: Standard business hours (Monday–Friday), with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, or weekends during marketing events or campaign launches.
- Travel: Occasional travel (5–15%) to conferences, partner meetings, and outreach events.
