Job Title: Marketing Specialist (Hybrid)

Location: Primary work at 4200 Smith School Rd., Austin, TX 78744, with hybrid scheduling (on-site 1x/week or as needed). Flexibility for remote work and travel required.

Work Hours: Part-time, 20-30 hours/week. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional adjustments based on project needs. Travel, per diem, parking, and related expenses are at the candidate’s expense, unless pre-approved and authorized by the department.

Salary Range: $56,000 - $60,000 annually (Equivalent to $27-$29/hour), with potential for full-time conversion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Development & Management: Assist in planning, implementing, and managing multifaceted marketing campaigns for programs such as Conservation License Plates, Big Time Texas Hunts, and licensing sales. Coordinate with external advertising agencies to develop creative assets, manage timelines, and monitor budgets.
  • Content Creation & Copywriting: Produce engaging copy for social media, web content, emails, print materials, and digital ads. Collaborate with creative teams to develop compelling visuals and messaging that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Project Coordination: Track campaign metrics, analyze results, and prepare reports to evaluate effectiveness. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
  • Internal & External Collaboration: Work with internal teams like digital marketing, creative services, and licensing groups, as well as external partners and agencies, to coordinate creative development, media buys, and performance assessments.
  • Supporting Strategic Initiatives: Contribute to the development of marketing and business plans, grant applications, and R3 communications efforts aimed at increasing license sales, outdoor participation, and community engagement.
  • Diversity & Inclusion Focus: Manage targeted campaigns such as Toyota ShareLunker aimed at recruiting ethnically diverse anglers, working with stakeholder teams to develop culturally relevant messaging and strategies.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years professional experience in marketing-related roles, including advertising account management, brand management, or digital marketing.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to coordinate estimates, timelines, and creative assets with external agencies.
  • Strong writing skills, capable of producing clear and persuasive content across multiple channels.
  • Experience with online advertising campaigns, tracking, and performance analysis is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, with occasional travel for meetings or campaign events.
