The Saul and Carole Zabar Nursery School at the Marlene Meyerson Jewish Community Center Manhattan (MMJCCM) is a Reggio-inspired, Jewish-values-based, child-centered school where students are respected as citizens with powerful ideas and voices. Teachers facilitate learning by working collaboratively with children as researchers, guiding and following the interests of the group.

The JCC is an inclusive school that celebrates the developmental differences of each child. Teachers support each child's learning, their connections with one another, their achievements, and their points of view by making their work visible through many
forms of documentation. Teachers partner with families to build a strong classroom and
schoolwide community. Our teachers are learners and leaders, whose voices and ideas
shape the school around them. We are looking for a Head and Associate teachers that share a belief in school community and progressive pedagogy.

General Responsibilities

• Planning, teaching and documenting curriculum
• Working with teaching team and school administration to make sure each
  child's need are being met
• Preparing or helping to prepare for parent teacher conferences
  and other communications with families
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Director or Associate Director as needed

Job Requirements:

• Minimum requirement for Associate Teacher - Bachelor's
  Degree
• Minimum requirement for Head Teacher - Master's Degree in
  Education or a related field
• Open to learning about the Reggio Emilia Teaching
  philosophy Incorporating Jewish values into building
  curriculum
• Working collaboratively with a teaching team

Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $45-$75K, with full
benefits package.
