Ocean Import Manager/Licensed Customs Broker

Must Reside in New Jersey (Hybrid 2 days onsite in Berkley Heights, NJ) | Full-Time | Management Level

MUST BE a licensed Customs Broker with a deep understanding of ocean freight and customs compliance? Do you thrive in leading experienced teams and solving complex import challenges? What You'll Do:

• Lead and mentor a department of 9 seasoned professionals.
• Oversee all day-to-day import operations and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Act as the primary liaison between customers, carriers, truckers, terminals, and U.S. Customs.
• Advise importers on tariff rates, rules, and regulations, including IEEPA tariffs.
• Monitor shipping trends and provide strategic, cost-effective routing options.
• Manage billing, resolve disputes, and oversee ACH payment setup.
• Address customer issues with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
• Handle personnel management including scheduling, vacation planning, and remote work coordination.
• Step in hands-on when needed to support entries or delivery orders.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 20+ years of logistics and customs experience.
• 10+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (active license required).
• Deep knowledge of ocean freight (FCL, LCL, oversized, break bulk, trucking).
• Strong understanding of IEEPA tariffs and U.S. Customs regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible, hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative environment.
• Must reside in New Jersey and work onsite 2 days per week.

LOCATION: MUST RESIDE IN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY Hybrid (2 days onsite in Berkley Heights, NJ)

SALARY: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
