Join Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation District (THPRD) for exciting opportunities in park maintenance! We are seeking friendly, motivated individuals in the Beaverton area who take pride in their work. THRPD offers a 3% pay incentive for staff who utilize their bilingual or multilingual skills at work. Employees also receive free drop-in access to all THPRD recreation facilities for their household
Available Positions:

Responsibilities: Assists with general ground and landscape maintenance, supporting the upkeep of park grounds, structures, and facilities. Operates related maintenance equipment and is responsible for a variety of duties, including landscaping, pruning, trimming, mowing, painting, and other general park maintenance tasks.

Pay rate range: $19.31 - $21.13 hourly


Responsibilities: Assists the Full-Time Park Maintenance Specialist in daily operations and supervises part-time staff. Tasks include landscape maintenance, playground inspection, restroom/litter service, irrigation maintenance, athletic field preparation, and equipment operation, along with other related duties as assigned.

Pay rate range: $19.72 - $22.21 hourly


Responsibilities: Performs turf and landscape maintenance for THPRD parks and Beaverton School District properties. Tasks include driving District vehicles, towing trailers, mowing, aerating, fertilizing, overseeding, and topdressing parks and athletic fields. The role also involves equipment and vehicle inspection and basic maintenance, along with other related duties as assigned.

Pay rate range: $22.82 - $25.69 hourly

  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.

THPRD is hiring for multiple positions with hours that vary based on program needs.
  • Part-Time Variable (PT): Work an average of fewer than 29 hours per week, with less than 1,560 hours annually.
  • Seasonal: Work up to 40 hours per week for a maximum of six consecutive months.

PART-TIME VARIABLE (PT): Part-time variable (PT) employees work less than 29 hours per week on average annually. However, they have the option of working additional hours during periods like summer or winter months. PT are eligible to receive benefits such as Paid Time Off (PTO), Holiday Pay, Compassionate Leave, and Inclement Weather Pay (if required to work).


SEASONAL: Seasonal employment is temporary and allows employees to work only during certain times of the year, up to 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of six (6) consecutive months. Seasonal employees are eligible to receive benefits such as Holiday Pay, Compassionate Leave, and Inclement Weather Pay (if required to work). Effective February 15, 2026, seasonal employees will also be eligible to accrue Paid Time Off (PTO)!

Leave
  • Paid Time Off - Paid leave type for part-time variable employees. Paid Time Off (PTO), will accrue at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked. This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason! Effective February 15, 2026 the accrual rate for PTO will increase to one (1) hour earned for every 23 hours worked and will include seasonal employees!
  • The ability to accrue paid sick leave at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked
  • Family Medical Leave eligibility for qualified family and medical related reasons
  • Paid compassionate leave is available to all part-time employees to grieve the loss of an immediate family member, to make arrangements (if necessary), and to attend memorial services. Employees are eligible for paid compassionate leave for up to the hours scheduled in their average work week.
