Position Summary
As a Retail Supervisor for Pet Operations, you will play a vital role in driving operational excellence while upholding our mission and values. You will oversee key areas such as merchandising, inventory management, and store operations, while ensuring a safe and organized environment for both pets and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership:

  • Support sales associates in product handling, offering training on product knowledge and presentation standards.
  • Facilitate a positive associate experience through training, mentoring, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Delegate tasks and validate their completion daily.
  • Act as the primary leader during your shifts, guiding associates and addressing any concerns.
  • Handle and resolve associate complaints and grievances.
  • Celebrate the achievements of associates to drive engagement.

Store Operations & Experience:

  • Implement merchandising strategies to boost sales, ensuring proper product placement and seasonal displays.
  • Manage inventory levels through audits and sales trend analysis, making informed recommendations for stock.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory records and address discrepancies promptly.
  • Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash transactions while adhering to compliance standards.
  • Maintain store standards and nurture a culture of empowerment by adhering to Policies and Procedures.
  • Share responsibility for opening and closing procedures to uphold our brand promise.
  • Conduct monthly live cycle counts and address discrepancies.
  • Manage pet care standards including cleaning, feeding, and ensuring the health of pets in our store.
  • Ensure that pet parents have a seamless experience with online orders.
  • Take immediate action and report any sick or injured pets; transport them to the vet if necessary.
  • Follow company procedures for new pet arrivals to guarantee their health and safety.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a customer-driven retail environment.
  • Availability for full-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and use hands for various tasks, including lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Regular exposure to various environmental conditions, including noise and pet care maintenance needs.
