Join our vibrant team at the YMCA as Sports Director, where you will play a key role in promoting physical activity, teamwork, and community engagement through sports programs association wide. We are seeking a dynamic, organized, and passionate individual dedicated to fostering a positive environment for participants of all ages and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee a variety of sports programs and leagues for children, teens, and adults.
- Establish new program activities and expand the sports program within the association to include Indiantown and St Lucie.
- Coordinate schedules, facilities, and equipment for sports activities and events.
- Recruit, train, and supervise coaches, volunteers, and staff involved in sports programs.
- Ensure safety protocols and proper use of equipment are maintained at all times.
- Promote sports programs within the community to increase participation and engagement at our three locations.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making improvements as needed.
- Manage budgets, registration processes, and record-keeping related to sports activities.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment for all participants.
Requirements:Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sports management, coaching, or recreation programming.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of safety standards and risk management in sports settings.
- Ability to motivate and inspire participants of diverse backgrounds.
- CPR, First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- College degree in recreation, sports management, or related field required.
